BLOGS I FOLLOW

There are lots of wonderful blogs out there, some of which I try to follow and I always find the amazing post that makes me laugh:

  • ELT Learning Journeys: interesting entries about culture and language in the English World. Funny anecdotes and curiosities.
  • Myenglishteacher: Really useful and interesting entries about grammar, vocabulary, writing...I bit of everything!
  • Blog de Cristina:This teacher also works at an EOI and she has the most amazing entries. Lots of useful and interesting sections. Have a look!
  • KeepSmilingEnglish: This is a website where you can find many different resources, especially if you want to sit (and pass!) any of the Cambridge exams. It also contains a blog and a "vlog" (a blog made up with short videos). It is attractive and amusing and will be helpful with your learning. Don't miss it!

Well, this is very similar to PlayPhase.me. This time, though, the recordings are not only from tv shows or movies, but from TED talks, speeches, interviews and so on.

You can choose whether to listen to the word in one or other accent (American, British, Australian, all). If there is a transcript, it will be shown underneath.

This is a wonderful page to practise your listening skills if you like music. You can choose between English, American, Canadian songs and then select which level you prefer (there are four difficulty levels). You need to write the words missing. This is a nice website that shows us how snippets of conversation are used in movies and TV shows.

From a simple "Nice to meet you" to the nowadays ubiquitious "dude".

Have a look,  bearing in mind it can turn out an addictive app!
