MY BRITISH AND AMERICAN RECIPES
In this section you will find two of the traditional American and British recipes I have tried at home, they were really delicious: Pumpkin Pie, and Carrot Cake
Marisa's Pumpkin Pie (thanks to Ben Derico's grandma)
What is pumpkin pie? Well it’s a typical dessert served at Thanksgiving and in the fall in the USA made of a creamy pumpkin filling. If you want to give it a try, here is a recipe. Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!
Ingredients
1 (9 inch) unbaked deep dish pie crust
3/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
2 eggs
1 (15 ounce) can Pumpkin Puree (or 15 Ounces of pureed freshpumpkin)
1 (12 fluid ounce) can Evaporated Milk
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
2. Combine sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in small bowl. Beat eggs lightly in large bowl. Stir in pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture. Gradually stir in evaporated milk. Pour into pie shell.
3. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F.; bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
4. Cool on wire rack for 2 hours. Serve immediately or refrigerate. (Do not freeze as this will cause the crust to separate from the filling.)
Marisa's Carrot Cake (American recipe)

175 g. of sugar 2 tablespoons of honey. 175 g. of sunflower oil. 3 large eggs. 175 g. of wholemeal flour Baking powder

2nd Beat sugar, honey and oil until well mixed.
3rd Add the eggs one at a time beating well until pale and frothy.
4th Stir in the rest of the ingredients and beat well.
5th Chop the walnuts and add.
6th Pour the mixture into a buttered cake tin.
7th Bake it for 1 ½ or 1 ¾ hours ( lay a piece of foil over the surface if it becomes too brown) until a thin skewer inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean.
8th Leave to cool and serve with sprinkled icing sugar, custard or melted chocolate.
MY STUDENTS' RECIPES
My students have been investigating on British Traditions and customs. As you already know, cooking and eating are one of the activities Spaniards like most, so they found delicious British recipes to share.
Here you have an example of typical British dishes and others
