UNIT 9. MYSTERIES: USED TO

Along this unit we will be working on USED TO

USED TO is related to an action or habit that was common  in the past but not anymore.

          Example: I used to go to the park when I was six years old  (But not anymore).

 

The negative form is DIDN'T USE TO.

           Example: We didn't  use to eat pizza on Fridays.

 

The interrogative form is DID + SUBJECT + USE TO + ?

           Example: Did you use to go to bed at 9 pm when you were seven?

GRAMMAR

ZERO CONDITIONAL

It is used when the result of the condition is always or generally true. It follows this structure:

           IF + PRESENT SIMPLE + , + PRESENT SIMPLE


             Example: If I study, I pass the exams.

                             If you are late, you miss the bus.


                             If she doesn't eat, she is hungry.

                             My icecream melts if I leave it out of the freezer.
