Teatro en el Reypa - How the Grinch Stole Christmas

This Christmas, some students from 1ºESO and 2ºESO performed the show How the Grinch Stole Christmas and the poem "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" in English for the Festival de Navidad.

In 2ºESO, three groups of English students performed Dr. Seuss' famous How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The show was full of lively characters, a fantastical setting, and Christmas magic. The students were able to memorize and pronounce very challenging (and often made-up) English words and put on a great show. Over the course of five weeks, the students achieved these objectives: developing confidence in their English memorization and speaking abilities; understanding acting techniques and improvisational skills; and having fun while putting on a lively show. The school community helped make everything come together, with some teachers and students helping with the set, props, hair, and makeup. Overall, the students received a lot of support from the audience and were proud of their performance.

Un poema- `Twas the Night before Christmas

In 1ºESO, six English students performed a theatrical poem, the classic "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" by Clement Clarke Moore. This poem uses some complex metaphors and imagery, so the students spent some time understanding each verse. Then, they helped to decide on movements and gestures that would accompany the poem so that the audience could understand what was happening. The students did a wonderful job, each speaking alone on stage in front of a large audience and using lots of expression to make the story come alive.
