FILM REVIEWS: KING KONG AND JOKER

KING KONG

by  Rubén San Migel (4º ESO C)

KING KONG is a 187-minute adventure fantasy film directed by Peter Jackson. It is set in New Zealand and the USA. The main stars of the movie are Naomi Watts and Adrien Brody. It was released in December 2005.

The film tells the story of a group of explorers and filmmakers who go to an island because they heard strange stories about it. They find giant gorillas besides other strange animals. They capture King Kong with the help of the actress Anne Darrow (Naomi Watts) and take him to New York. However, they didn’t know the strength of the eight metre tall gorilla that falls in love with Anne Darrow.

The film explores important themes such as the power of love and the value of sacrifice.

All in all, I find this film to be exciting and moving. It contains great acting and directing. The scene of the actress and King Kong on top of the high building is amazing. I really enjoyed the film. That’s why I highly recommend it. Everyone should see it.

JOKER ('El Bromas')

by Hugo Navarro (4º ESO C)

'THE JOKER' speaks about a mad man that is a bad comedian and everyone hates him. Arthur makes that you can feel that hate.

We start in Gotham, a clown that looks happy, he evolves into a phycocriminal. The actor that plays Arthur is Joaquim Phoenix, the perfect actor for this character.

The zone inspiration is The Bronx.

In my opinion, this movie is strange, but the Joaquim Phoenix is the best actor for this character.
