Global Classroom 2020-21

El Departamento de Historia, Inglés y Coordinación Bilingüe han estado trabajando durante todo el año en el Proyecto Global Classroom auspiciado por la Dirección General de Bilingüismo de la Consejería de Educación de la Comunidad de Madrid, y cuyo principal objetivo es emular una Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas.

Nuestros alumnos de 3º de la ESO han investigado sobre diferentes temas relacionados con la "Agenda 2030". Los países que nos asignaron a nuestro Centro fueron Rusia, Emiratos Árabes Unidos, Senegal, Islandia y Suiza. Seleccionamos a 10 alumnos y el pasado 23 de marzo se celebró la conferencia (vía telemática) en el Salón de Actos de nuestro IES. Desgraciadamente, no se pudo llevar a cabo en el CRIF Las Acacias como en ediciones anteriores pero nuestros alumnos disfrutaron mucho de la experiencia.

No hemos pasado a la siguiente fase pero lo que más nos importa y motiva es su esfuerzo, ilusión, placer y disfrute de esta actividad. La pandemia nos ha arrebatado muchas cosas pero no la felicidad de hacer un trabajo en equipo. Los departamentos involucrados están completamente seguros de que este será el comienzo del camino y de que dentro de un tiempo nuestro sueño de visitar la Asamblea de las Naciones Unidas en Nueva York se hará realidad.

Global Classroom 2020-21

The History and English Department have been working all year on the Global Classroom Project. This official project is hosted by Dirección General de Blingüismo de la Comunidad de Madrid and its main aim is to have students participate in a United Nations Model Conference.

Our 3rd year of ESO students have been tackling different issues in their position papers (History Department) and opening speeches (English Department). The topic this year was "Agenda 2030" and we were given 5 countries to study in depth. The countries were EAU, Russia, Senegal, Iceland and Switzerland. We competed with different schools in the area. Ten students were selected and on the 23rd of March the students spent the whole morning presenting in the Salón de Actos. Unfortunately, we could not visit the CRIF Las Acacias as in previous years, but our students enjoyed the experience.

We did not win the contest but the students put in a great effort, showed incentive, and enjoyed the experience which is the most important thing. The pandemic has taken away lots of things but not the happiness of being together and working as a team. The teachers and the departments involved are a hundred percent sure that this will only be the beginning and our dream of winning the prize and visiting the United Nation Assembly in New York will come true very soon.
