Hello Everyone!

This is Lauren! Due to COVID-19 I am back in the United States. I miss you all so much and hope to see you again very soon. I know things are hard right now but they will get better. I thought it would be fun to tell you about my home and what I am doing right now!

¡Hola a todos! 

Soy Lauren. Por el COVID-19 estoy de vuelta en Estados Unidos. Os echo mucho de menos y espero volver a veros pronto. Sé que las cosas ahora son complicadas, pero pronto mejorarán. Pensé que sería divertido hablaros de mi hogar y lo que estoy haciendo ahora.

I live in Dallas, Texas. It is spring here, but in Texas that doesn’t tell you much about the weather. Some days it is really sunny and warm, almost warm enough to swim. Other days it gets really cold, so cold you can’t leave the house without a big coat! 

Vivo en Dallas, Texas. Aquí es primavera, pero eso en Texas no es decir mucho en términos de clima. Algunos días son soleados y cálidos, incluso para poder bañarse. Otros días hace frío, tanto que no puedes salir de casa sin el abrigo.

When it is warm outside, I spend a lot of time in my backyard. I like to sit by the pool and read a good book. My family usually comes outside with me so we can enjoy the sun together! I also go for walks around my neighborhood. I get to see tons of animals like hawks, squirrels and sometimes even an armadillo! 

Cuando hace bueno, paso mucho tiempo en el jardín. Me gusta sentarme junto a la piscina y leer un buen libro. Mi familia generalmente se une a mi y disfrutamos del sol todos juntos. También salgo de paseo por el barrio, y me encuentro algunos animales, como halcones, ardillas... ¡incluso algún armadillo!

When it is cold outside I like to cuddle up with my dog, Boomer, and watch a good movie. I also like to paint or play the piano. Creative activities make me feel good and distract me from the craziness of everything going on right now! I have also been learning how to sew so that I can help make masks for people who need them. It is really fun and it feels good to help, even in such a small way!

Cuando hace frío me gusta acurrucarme con mi perro Boomer, y ver una buena peli. También me gusta pintar o tocar el piano. Las actividades creativas me hacen sentir bien y distraerme de toda esta locura que está pasando. También he estado aprendiendo a coser para poder ayudar a hacer mascarillas para la gente que las necesita. Es realmente divertido y te sientes bien ayudando, aunque sea de esta forma tan simple.

It is hard to be so far away from all of you but I am so grateful that we have all this technology to help us stay connected. I hope you all are safe, healthy and happy! Stay strong and we will all get through this together! 

Es duro estar tan lejos de vosotros, pero por suerte tenemos toda la tecnología que nos ayuda a mantenernos en contacto. Espero que todos estéis a salvo, sanos y felices. ¡Manteneos fuertes y juntos superaremos esto!
