UNIT 8. GREAT IDEAS. Passive voice

We use PRESENT PASSIVE when the subject is receiving the action, it is not doing it in the present. For further information, click on the image.

SUBJECT + IS / ARE + VERB (past participle)

        Examples: My house is painted.

                        Is your hair cut?

                        Cakes aren't finished

PAST PASSIVE is used for actions which are received by the subject in the past.

SUBJECT + WAS / WERE + VERB (past participle)

        Example: My car was repaired.

                        They weren't paid for it.

                         Is the bread toasted?
