UNIT 2: LOOK AFTER YOURSEF
It is very important that we take care of our body, to stay healthy and happy.
In this unit we are going to see how our body works. We are going to see what we can do to look after ourselves and to stay healthy in three main secctions:
1. KEEPING A HEALTHY DIET. 2. FOLLOWING HEALTHY HABITS. 3. THE BODY SYSTEMS. 4. STAGES OF LIFE. |

2.1. KEEPING A HEALTHY DIET.
. A healthy diet is a balanced diet that contains the right amount of nutrients from the different groups of food.
. Each goup helps our body in different ways.
. If we don´t follow a balance diet we can have different health problems, we feel tired and bad, we can´t concentrate, ...
We can use the food wheel or the food pyramid to know from what groups of food we can eat more quantity, and from what groups of food we can´t eat a lot.

2.2. FOLLOWING HEALTHY HABITS.
HEALTHY HABITS
1. Personal hygiene
a) Wash your hand before you eat and after you go to the toilet.
b) Have regular showers.
c) Brush your teeth after your meals.
2. Do a lot of exercise everyday .
3. Enjoy your free time.
4. Rest well. Sleep at least 9 hours per day.
