UNIT 2: KEEPING HEALTHY

Introduction

    In this section you will have the oportunity to complement the contents that we see in the classroom about this unit. It will help you to understand better the contents and to learn more new things with less effort...

In this unit we propose you:

1. To see several videos to review most of the contents of the unit, throught nice cartoons.

2. To visit some interesting websites for children about science in English so you can see more extra interesting information about the unit (videos, photos, readings, games, ...).

HEALTHY HABITS PREVENT ILLNESS

  To have a healthy life we have to follow some basic healthy habits that can be included the following 4 groups:

a) Hygiene:

- Having showers regularly

- Washing our hand before meals and after going to the toilet

- Cleening our teeth after meals & going regularly to the dentist

b) Resting: -Sleeping at least 9 or 10 hours per day.

c) Doing exercise and sports

 * Benefics o doing exercise:

     It make our muscles stronger and more flexible

     It´s good for your heart and blood circulation.

     You can have fun with your friends

d) A healthy diet

 * It´s very important to keep a healthy diet, this means:

  1. A balance diet: the diet that gives you the right amount of nutrients.

  2. A sufficient diet: the diet that gives you the right amount of energy

      that you need, but not too much.
