The school complex based in Budrio (BO) in 2000 took the name of the Giordano Bruno Institute of Higher Education. The Institute currently offers the following study addresses: Scientific High School and Human Sciences High School, Industrial Technical Institute located in the headquarters of Budrio, Scientific High School of Applied Sciences and Professional Institute for Commercial Services at the headquarters coordinated Canedi in Medicina (BO), Technical Commercial and Professional Commercial Institute at the Nobili coordinated headquarters in Molinella; the Professional Institute of Industry and Crafts, at the coordinated headquarters in Molinella.
The total number of staff is 136 teachers and 31 units of ATA staff while the I.I.S. G.Bruno school complex has 1300 students. In the current school year, an effective manager took office who implemented a capillary internal organization aimed at improving the school service, also with the aim of consolidating the recognisability of the training offer, enhancing the identity of the school center with characteristic features of the inclusion, sustainability and internationalization.
The variety of the school population also includes some first and second-generation immigrant students. In line with the new needs, the school profile is evolving towards a welcoming school that takes action to promote positive attitudes towards life in a multicultural and multi-ethnic school.
Our school is taking on the connotation of an educating community where differences are accepted, integrated and constitute a resource.
This evolutionary process, mirror of the transformations of the multicultural and globalized society, promotes methodologies and operational tools for students aimed at developing an intercultural learning environment, projected in a European and international dimension. In relation to the European dimension in teaching, multiculturalism and internationalization processes, the activities carried out in the school demonstrate a great liveliness.
Language exchange projects have been activated with the Netherlands and Hungary, strategic partnerships with Poland, Spain, Germany, Romania and Bulgaria, the MUN project and since the launch of the secondary school reform, it provides modules for teaching non-linguistic subjects in a foreign language ( English) according to the CLIL methodology. Training courses are also provided for certifications in English. The project staff is composed of 5 teachers, each with specific skills, with different training and experiences. The teachers are from the linguistic area, with previous experience in Erasmus projects and exchanges.
