Hello everyone!
It has taken a while to get things sorted, but I believe we have some exciting things to tell you all.
Since the project started, Blakeney School has joined in many ways with another local school called Pillowell. This has meant that a lot of sharing of good practice and ideas has happened. Staff and children, as well as parents are often seen working together.
Therefore, we have included the children from Pillowell School on the project. They have a different uniform to ours (blue).
Recently, the older children started to work on the photos we recieved from Yalcin in Turkey. We employed a local artist called Tom Cousins, who does much work at our schools. His website is www.tomcousins.co.uk
Tom and the children looked at the Turkish photos, and manipulated them. One of the photos was of some toy bear faces. The children decided to re-create their own in the same style - but add extra details. It is hoped that the children in Turkety will add some details to thier original, and send us pictures. We would then copy and add even more. Eventually both schools would have very similar pieces of art. Well, that is the plan!
This is the image from Turkey

And this is the image we did in the UK!

Tom also worked on some ideas with the children regarding Pattern in the environment. In a couple of days we will publish some of the children's work.
The children are scheduled to start some animation work soon. They are very excited about this indeed!
We have had fast internet cabling put into our nuursery unit, but we need stiil the PC from IBM which has not arrived. In the meantime, we have arranged some lessons on the internet for the young mothers who use our nursery. We will keep you informed.
By for now!
